Table 1. Lifecycle Controller RSOD screen When a firmware update operation for a component(s) is combined with the Dell NVMe Switch backplane update, the subsequent firmware update job in sequence that follows the backplane update may fail with an RSOD in the Lifecycle Controller console.
Description When a firmware update operation for a component(s) is combined with the Dell NVMe Switch backplane update, the subsequent firmware update job in sequence that follows the backplane update may fail with an RSOD in the Lifecycle Controller console.
Workaround Perform any of the following:
  • · Update each component, one at a time.
  • · Update a specific combination of firmware components that would not result in the RSOD. For example, combine the Dell NVMe backplane update with any PLDM-based firmware update component job, such as Backplane and BIOS or BIOS and NIC cards.
Systems Affected All 15th Generation of PowerEdge servers supported by this release that are configured with Dell NVMe Switch backplane.
