Dell PowerProtect DD Management Center (DDMC) 7.9 Installation and Administration Guide

Configuring secure SMTP

The protection system uses Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) to send email messages, autosupports, and alerts. Specifying a username and password on the mail server improves security.

About this task

To configure secure SMTP:

Steps

  1. Select Administration > Settings > General Configuration > Mail Server.
  2. At the upper right of the window, select More Tasks > Set Mail Server.
  3. In the Set Mail Server dialog, enable the Credentials field, enter the User Name and Password, and click OK.

Results

SMTP is secure.
