Edit deployed Smart Scale services

When a deployment of Smart Scale services fails, you can edit the details of the failed deployment and try again to deploy the services.

Prerequisites

You must have admin privileges to edit deployed Smart Scale services.

Steps

  1. From the Infrastructure > Data Centers page, select a data center with a Smart Scale Services card that indicates "Deployment Failed."
You can view the job details or edit the details for the failed deployment.
  2. To change details for a failed deployment, click Edit Deployed Services.
The Edit Deployed Services wizard opens to the Review page.
  3. Review details for the currently deployed Smart Scale services. Click Next.
  4. On the Select vCenter page, if required, edit the details about the vCenter for hosting Smart Scale services.
If vCenter connection information (host name or IP address) or the certificate is changed, you must re-accept the certificate. Enter a username and password to ensure lookup privileges.
Observe the minimum requirements that are listed.
    Click Next.
  5. On the vCenter Configuration page, if required, edit the location information for the DD Namespace VM.
The location information includes items such as data center, cluster, datastore, and port group. Observe the minimum requirements that are listed. Click Next.
  6. On the VM Name page, if required, edit the details.
  7. On the Network Settings page, if required, edit the default MTU for all interfaces and the details for the specific network interface that is displayed. Click Next.
  8. On the External Ports page, if required, edit the details for the Smart Scale ports. These ports must be open and not used by other services. Click Next.
  9. On the Additional Settings page, if required, edit the time zone, NTP, DNS, and syslog server for the VM that hosts the Smart Scale services. Click Next.
  10. On the Deployment Credentials page, enter the username and password for the vCenter that is used to deploy Smart Scale services.
This user must have deployment privileges. These credentials are not saved after deployment. Click Next.
  11. On the Summary page, review the information that is listed. If necessary, click Back to update deployment details. When ready, click Deploy.
