Data Centers

Create, manage, and monitor health and alerts of groups of systems at the data center level.

An overview is provided on the main data center page. Only users with the admin role can view this page. The page shows:

The number of created data centers
How many systems are in and are not in a managed data center.
The number of data centers that have deployed advanced services (for example, Smart Scale)

Before you can manage systems in a data center, they must first be added (registered). See the section Adding (registering) systems to DDMC.

Create a data center to contain your systems.

Select Infrastucture > Data Centers.
Click Create.
Define the data center by entering a name and an optional description and click Next.
Select and add available systems to the data center.
Review the summary page, and make any necessary edits. Click Next.

You cannot delete a data center if:

Select Infrastucture > Data Centers.
Select a data center to be edited, and then click Edit.
Review the data center name and optional description, and click Next.
Add or remove systems from the data center, and click Next.
NOTE Users must have the admin role to add or remove a PowerProtect DD system. You cannot remove a system that is in a system pool.
Review the summary page, and click Save.

To view a summary of the data center, click the arrow in the lower right corner of the data center card.

Click Systems tab to review information, add, or remove systems from the data center.

If Smart Scale services are deployed, click System Pools to create, edit, or delete system pools.

Click the arrow in bottom-right corner in the Data Center card to minimize the details view.
