Dell G15 5535 Owner's Manual

Procedure to move the M.2 solid-state drive screw mount for solid-state drive slot 2

About this task

NOTE:Both M.2 solid-state drive slots on this computer support the following solid-state drive configurations:
  • M.2 2230 solid-state drive
  • M.2 2280 solid-state drive
NOTE:Depending on the configuration ordered, a M.2 2230 or 2280 solid-state drive may be installed into both slot 1 and 2. If you are installing a solid-state drive into slot 2 by yourself, only a M.2 2280 SSD, paired with a Dell thermal shield is recommended.

If you are replacing the solid-state drive of a different form factor other than the one removed, perform the following procedure to move the location of the solid-state drive screw mount.

Steps

  1. Push the solid-state drive screw mount outwards to remove it from the screw-mount slot of the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
  2. Rotate the solid-state drive screw mount 180 degrees and slide it into the M.2 2280 screw-mount slot.
