PowerProtect Data Manager 19.16 Storage Array User Guide

Restoring block volume data

When data in volumes or volume groups is backed up as part of a crash consistent protection policy in PowerProtect Data Manager, you can restore the backups by using the centralized restore functionality in the PowerProtect Data Manager UI.

NOTE:Restore of an individual volume from a volume group backup is not supported.

You can perform the following types of centralized restores of volumes and volume groups:

  • Restore data from primary or replicated backups to the original block volume
  • Restore data from primary or replicated backups to an alternate block volume on the same or different storage array
  • Restore data from a snapshot to the original location
  • Refresh data on a clone using a snapshot
  • Instant Access
