PowerProtect Data Manager 19.16 Administrator Guide

Types of reporting information

Different reports provide different kinds of information. It is useful to know what types of information are available.

The following tables describe the different types of reports and what information they provide. The tables are grouped by category.

NOTE:This information is available across multiple reports and configurations. Individual reports might contain a subset of the information.

Report Browser job types

The categories of job types used by the Report Browser differ from the categories of job types used by the built-in PowerProtect Data Manager reports.

The Report Browser job type of Protect combines the PowerProtect Data Manager job types of Protect and Cloud Tier. The Report Browser job type of Restore combines the PowerProtect Data Manager job types of Restore, Export Reuse, and Cloud Disaster Recovery.

While the total count of assets remains the same, the specific count of assets in a Report Browser job type might be different from the specific count of assets in the PowerProtect Data Manager job type of the same name.

Report Browser report categories

The report categories used by the Report Browser differ from the built-in report categories.

The Report Browser report categories include Job Activities with six individual reports and Asset Protection with four individual reports. A particular job only appears in one of these report categories. However, it might appear in more than one individual report within that category.

The built-in report categories include Protection Jobs, Asset Jobs, and System Jobs. A particular job only appears in one of these report categories.

There is no necessary equivalence between the Report Browser report categories and the built-in report categories. For example, a self-service restore job to an alternate location that is displayed and counted in the Report Browser Job Activities report category is displayed and counted in the built-in Protection Jobs report category.

While the total count of assets remains the same, the specific count of assets in a Report Browser report category might be different from the specific count of assets in a built-in report category.
