PowerProtect Data Manager 19.14 Storage Array User Guide

Manage and monitor Instant Access sessions

The Restore > Running Sessions window enables you to monitor and manage the status of a block volume Instant Access restore.

When the Jobs window indicates that a restore has completed successfully, go to Restore > Running Sessions > Block Volumes to access information about the sessions. This window enables you to monitor and manage all exported copies that you have created from protection storage.

When you select the session in the table, you can choose from three options:

  • Map Host—Click to open the Map Host dialog and select a host or host group to map to the selected session.
  • Unmap Host—Click to open the Unmap Host dialog and remove a host or host group from the selected session.
  • Delete—Click if you no longer require the active restore session. PowerProtect Data Manager deletes the session. This operation unmaps all the hosts or host groups that are attached to the session, and then deletes the session.

To access the data for an Instant Access operation, mount the volume to the mapped host by using the volume WWN that is shown in the Details column for the session.
