Recommission the Oracle RMAN agent

You can use the procedure in this topic to onboard the decommissioned Oracle RMAN agent to the same PowerProtect Data Manager server.

To register and recommission the Oracle RMAN agent with PowerProtect Data Manager, run the configureAddOn.sh script from the RMAN agent addon directory $RMAN_AGENT_HOME/addon.

For example:

cd /home/oracle/opt/dpsapps/rmanagent/addon/
./configureAddOn.sh
Enter the Oracle RMAN agent home pathname. Press ENTER for the default home pathname /home/oracle/opt/dpsapps/rmanagent:

Existing backups are not automatically discovered and managed by PowerProtect Data Manager by default. Follow the instructions in the PowerProtect Data Manager Oracle RMAN User Guide to discover existing bbackups.

Provide the retention time as the number of days: 2
