Add new storage target

When you add a primary backup, you can add a storage target instead of selecting an existing storage target.

Steps

  1. Go to Infrastructure > Storage, and click Add in the Protection Storage Name tab.
    The Add Storage dialog is displayed.
  2. Select the appropriate Storage Type from the following options.
    • PowerProtect DD System
    • PowerProtect DD Management Center
    If the system supports High Availability mode, enable the High Availability check box.
  3. Specify the following fields.
    • Name - Description of the system
    • Address - FQDN or IP address of the system
    • Port
  4. In the Host Credentials section, the credentials of the system are selected by default.
    Perform the following steps to configure a different host credential.
    1. Select Add Credentials from the Host Credentials drop-down list.
      The Add Credentials dialog box is displayed,
    2. Specify the following fields:
      • Name - Domain name
      • User Name - Domain username
      • Password - Domain password
    3. Click Save to add host credentials.
  5. Click Verify to verify the certificate of the system.
  6. Click Save to add the new storage target.
