PowerProtect Data Manager 19.11 Storage Direct User Guide

Onboard an existing Storage Direct agent configuration to the PowerProtect Data Manager server

Perform the following steps to onboard an existing Storage Direct agent command line configuration to a PowerProtect Data Manager server.

Steps

  1. Verify that all the configuration files required for importing to PowerProtect Data Manager are complete.
  2. Update the Storage Direct Agent for version 19.7, and ensure that you specify the names of all required configuration files during the update.
  3. Create a json file named BFconfigValidate.json, with the following content:
    { "command": "brownfieldConfigValidate", "configName": [] }
  4. Copy the json file to the installpath/bin directory.
  5. Run the following command:
    protectpoint < BFconfigValidate.json.
    NOTE The validation fails when you validate multiple brown field config files simultaneously. In that case, rerun this command according to the number of files. For example, if you have five brown field config files, run this command for five times.
    The appsetting file in the installpath/config directory displays details for both successfully validated configuration files and configuration files that cannot be validated. For each configuration file that has been validated successfully, a 1 is added at the end of the configuration file name. Only the successful configuration files' storage groups and copies will be onboarded to the PowerProtect Data Manager server.
