Scope of Document
This document covers the following details:
- Preparatory tasks such as viewing the system health status, setting up the root user account password, and downloading logs before you can troubleshoot issues.
- Troubleshooting information for common network connectivity issues, and Dell SmartFabric Storage Software (SFSS) application and Centralized Discovery Controller (CDC) issues.
- Lists the system log messages that are generated by SmartFabric Storage Software.
- Specifies the severity of each system log message.
- Provides a description for each system log message and the recommended action that you can take to mitigate the issue.
NOTE: This document includes a list of issues that occur frequently and provides instructions to troubleshoot them, but does not cover all possible error conditions.
Audience
This guide is intended for Storage Area Network (SAN) administrators who are responsible for configuring and managing SmartFabric Storage Software (SFSS).

- Keywords and parameters separated by a bar require you to choose one option
