Dell Edge Gateway 5200 User's Guide

Power consumption

Power consumption as follows is based on lab data in which 24 V DC is applied and current is measured by the DC power supply. The power consumption (W) is calculated as the product of applied voltage (V) and the current (A).

Platforms tested for this data have available external I/O interfaces, and are attached to supported devices such as VGA and DVI monitors, PS2 keyboard/mouse, USB dummy load, COM loopback, and audio loopback, and an internal hard disk driver is installed.

Information is presented for reference only. Actual power consumption will vary with different attached devices and operating system.

Table 1. Power consumptionPower consumption
System Power off System idle Processor full load System full load Recommended power supply
EGW-5200 Intel Core i7 3.6 W 24 W 65 W 97 W >120 W
EGW-5200 Intel Core i5 3.7 W 22 W 64 W 94 W >120 W
EGW-5200 Intel Core i3 3.8 W 22 W 56 W 85 W >120 W
NOTE: Sufficient power supply for the entire system is required to meet these specifications. At least 120 W at 24 V input is recommended.
NOTE: Heat generated by add-on PCI/PCIe adapters affects thermal stability. Additional heat dissipation is required when the system operates at high temperatures or in harsh environments with add-on adapters.
