The Dell EMC DSS 8440 system supports 10 x 2.5 inch hard drives with following configurations:
- Drive 0–1: Support SATA/SAS only
- Drive 2–7: Support SATA/SAS/NVMe only
- Drive 8–9: Support NVMe only
