The General page enables you to configure network settings that define how the system participates in an IP network.
To configure these network settings outside of the configuration wizard, select
Hardware > Ethernet.

Obtain Settings using DHCP
Select this option to specify that the system collect network settings from a Dynamic Host Control Protocol (DHCP) server. When you configure the network interfaces, at least one of the interfaces should be configured to use DHCP.
Manually Configure
Select this option to use the network settings defined in the Settings area of this page.
Host Name
Specifies the network hostname for this system.
NOTE:If you choose to obtain the network settings through DHCP, you can manually configure the hostname at
Hardware > Ethernet > Settings or with the
net set hostname command. You must manually configure the host name when using DHCP over IPv6.
Domain Name
Specifies the network domain to which this system belongs.
DNS Servers
Specifies one or more DNS servers for the system.
Default IPv4 Gateway
Specifies the IPv4 address of the static default gateway to which the system will forward network requests when there is no route entry for the destination system.
Default IPv6 Gateway
Specifies the IPv6 address of the static default gateway to which the system will forward network requests when there is no route entry for the destination system.
