Connecting the HA interconnect

About this task

Cable the HA interconnect to provide communication between the two nodes of the HA pair. The physical labeling on the network daughter card ports is different from how the ports are identified in the DDOS software. The following table lists the physical and software identifiers for each port.

Table 1. Physical and DDOS network daughter card port identifiersPhysical and DDOS network daughter card port identifiers
Physical port number DDOS port identifier
1 ethMa
2 ethMb
3 ethMc (HA interconnect)
4 ethMd (HA interconnect)

Steps

  1. Connect a 10G Base-T or 10G SFP+ cable from port 3 of the network daughter card on the primary node to port 3 of the network daughter card on the standby node.
  2. Connect a 10G Base-T or 10G SFP+ cable from port 4 of the network daughter card on the primary node to port 4 of the network daughter card on the standby node.
NOTE:The system ships with a cable for the HA interconnect, but it is not required.
