Dell EMC PowerProtect DDVE in the Azure Cloud 7.8 Installation and Administration Guide

Using OAuth 2.0 (recommended)

Open Authorization (OAuth) 2.0 is an industry standard for authentication between clients and servers.

OAuth 2.0 uses an authorization framework in which a client (for example, a compute VM instance) requests an authorization grant from the resource owner (for example, Azure) to access a protected resource (for example, Azure cloud storage). The client then uses the authorization grant to request an OAuth 2.0 token from an authorization server (for example, Azure metadata server).

The resource owner delegates the authorization server to issue an OAuth 2.0 token that is based on the permissions of the authorization grant. The OAuth 2.0 token has a limited lifetime and specific permissions that are based on the authorization grant.
