You can upgrade the DDVE instance type to any higher capacity configuration. You can also upgrade an instance type to the recommended instance within the same capacity. For example, you can upgrade a 256-TB DDVE instance from custom-32-131072 to e2-standard-32.
Prerequisites
NOTE Upgrade is not supported for Block storage solution. If DDVE is using block storage, only 16 TB configuration is supported.

Steps
Power off the DDVE using the CLI:
#system poweroff
From the GCP web console, ensure that the DDVE instance is powered off.
Change the memory and CPU configurations for the DDVE by selecting
Compute Engine > VM Instances > VM Instance details > Edit > Machine configuration. See the table in this topic.
Power on the DDVE instance.
Log in to the DDVE and run this command to verify the new instance configuration:
If the DDVE is configured with recommended disks, and metadata disks are nearly full, you can expand metadata storage on the existing disks. Instructions are provided in
Expand metadata storage.
