Functional area Limitations
Unsupported versions of Data Protection Central monitored systems Data Protection Central may allow you to add unsupported versions of Data Protection Central monitored systems. If you add an unsupported version, a warning or error message may not be displayed and Data Protection Central may not work correctly.

It is recommended that you only add system versions that are supported. For a list of the system versions that are supported, refer to
  Environment and system requirements.

PowerProtect Data Manager AD and LDAP users must observe these SSO requirements when launching PowerProtect Data Manager:
  • PowerProtect Data Manager and Data Protection Central must connect to the same AD or LDAP server.
For more details about SSO limitations with PowerProtect Data Manager, see the Data Protection Central Security Configuration Guide.
FIPS mode Operating the Data Protection Central in a FIPS-compliant solution requires that the versions of all monitored element management systems are FIPS-compliant and FIPS enabled. For more details about FIPS limitations with Data Protection Central, see the Data Protection Central Security Configuration Guide.
Transport Layer Security Data Protection Central 19.2 and later supports only TLS 1.2. TLS 1.2 is the default transport layer security protocol for new installations of, or upgrades to, Data Protection Central 19.11.

Less secure TLS 1.0 and 1.1 versions are disabled. This security hardening prevents adding new Avamar 7.5.1 systems to Data Protection Central 19.11. If you want to add a Avamar 7.5.1 system to Data Protection Central 19.11 using a less secure TLS 1.0 or 1.1 version, contact Dell EMC Customer Support for assistance.

NOTE:After an upgrade to Data Protection Central 19.2 or later, Data Protection Central can still monitor previously added Avamar 7.5.1. systems. Deprecation of TLS 1.0 or 1.1 does not impact monitoring existing Avamar 7.5.1 systems.
Enabling TLS 1.0 and 1.1 versions prevents the user from operating Data Protection Central 19.2 or later in an FIPS 140-2 compliant mode.
