Throttle a transfer job

Set the maximum number of heavy worker processes that can work on an active transfer job. By throttling one transfer job, more resources may become available for another job.

Steps

  1. From the DataIQ Data Management screens, select View Transfers. Within this dialog, you can review the list of your transfer jobs and the details of the jobs you have submitted.
  2. Select the numbered button under the Processes column. The number within the button shows how many processes are currently working on the transfer job.
This button displays a dialog where you can adjust the maximum processes allowed for the job. Processes window shows: "Total Busy processes:10/10", "Total Idle Processes: 0/10", "Job's Busy Processes: 9/10", Maximum for job (text box), and the tip: "Value must be greater than 0. For no limit, enter "no limite" above. Buttons include Set Limit and Close.
    • Total Busy Processes: Busy heavy worker processes compared with the total number of processes, systemwide.
    • Total Idle Processes: Idle heavy worker processes compared with the total number of processes, systemwide.
    • Job's Busy Processes: Busy processes working on the selected job compared to the maximum number of processes allowed for that job.
  3. Set Maximum for job to a new maximum number of processes. You can enter positive integers or type No limit if you do not want to set a limit.
  4. Select Set Limit, then select Close.
