Disable and remove a plugin

Before you can try a new version of a plugin, you must disable and remove the current version of the plugin.

About this task

Plugin Manager does not allow you to overwrite files that are already present in a plugin's hoststorage. This prevents data from being accidentally overwritten.

Steps

  1. Disable the plugin. From the DataIQ UI, select Settings > Data management configuration. In the Plugins section, select the (vertical ellipses) icon next to the plugin and select Disable.
While the plugin is disabled, DataIQ Administrators can configure the plugin and re-enable it.
  2. Stop the plugin:
    /opt/dataiq/plugin_manager/bin/plugin_manager stop <plugin>

This disables the Kubernetes pod, making it unavailable for all users, including DataIQ administrators

    .
  3. Uninstall the plugin:
    /opt/dataiq/plugin_manager/bin/plugin_manager rm <plugin>
  4. Optional: retrieve any info you may want to keep from the plugin outputs folder:
    cp /opt/dataiq/maunakea/data/plugins/<plugin><plugin>/<data to be retrieved> /mydrive/
  5. Optional: delete the hoststorage directory from the DataIQ host:
    rm -r /opt/dataiq/maunakea/data/plugins/<plugin>
