Dell EMC DataIQ Developer Guide

PDF

Create a project directory

Before you can develop a new plugin, set up a standard Python project folder.

Steps

  1. Download the DataIQ Developer Guide Sample Files at https://github.com/dell/dataiq-plugin-example . Use the samples in the /examples/legacy-example folder as a comparison when creating your own Flask app.
  2. To make a fresh project, create a project directory with a Python 3.6+ virtual environment and a hoststorage directory.
    ~ $ mkdir myplugin
    ~ $ cd myplugin
    myplugin $ python3 -m venv venv
    myplugin $ source venv/bin/activate
  3. Inside the virtual environment, install the dataiq-plugin library with pip.
(venv) myplugin $ pip install <dev_guide>/dataiq_plugin*
    (venv) myplugin $ mkdir hoststorage
