Set size limits or expiration dates for tagged or categorized data

Set limits for data across different folders and volumes by using tags and categories. Using tags, you can set a limit for the total amount of data across a group of folders across volumes, or set a date indicating the time when certain data or of certain file types should have been removed. When a size limit or expiration date is exceeded, DataIQ generates an alert in DataIQ. DataIQ Administrators can also set up alerts to send automatic email notifications to data owners.

Steps

  1. In the Data Management window, in the Tag management page, next to a tag, select the Pencil icon (pencil) icon.
  2. Either set a Size Limit, a Date Limit, or both. For example, set the maximum size of data in a folder to 200 GB.
  3. In the far-right pane, select the Apply tab.
