PDF

Data management configuration file

Change this file only when directed by Dell Support. The configuration file controls functional aspects of DataIQ data management features.

Any modifications to this file can have significant impacts on DataIQ.

If you do need to make changes, you can modify the file either from the web UI: (From the Settings window, select Data management configuration > Configure data management), or from the DataIQ server at /opt/dataiq/maunakea/claritynow/etc/clarity.cfg. (A sample file is available in the same folder at clarity.cfg.sample.)

Conventions:

  • The data management configuration file contains settings in the following format:

    <option1> = <value1>
    <option2> = <value2>
    <option3> = <value3>
  • Comments begin with a #. Comments can be entire lines or at the end of a line.
  • Empty lines are allowed and do not cause problems.

Authentication settings

This section controls how long users can remain logged into DataIQ. To learn more, see Session login and timeout. Sample:

#Authentication
                                        # Default:
ssoSessionIdleTimeout = 15 # * User logs out when idle for 15 minutes
ssoSessionMaxLifespan = 1440 # * User can stay logged in for 1 day
                                        # When user checks "Remember Me" at login:
ssoSessionIdleTimeoutRememberMe = 3600 # * User logs out when idle for 2.5 days
ssoSessionMaxLifespanRememberMe = 43200 # * User can stay logged in for 30 days

This section helps you optimize volume scans. To learn more, see Volume scan settings.

#Volume scans
concurrentIndexedScans = 5              # 5 scans can run at a time
maxScanErrors = 100 # Scans abort after 100 errors are found
maxObjectsInFolderEnumeration = 5000000 # Show error if 5 million objects in folder

Data bin settings

This example shows volume scan settings. To learn more, see Data bin settings.

#Data bins
yearsToBinByAge = 7 # Scans collect data bin info. Oldest bin can be no larger than 7 years
atimeScanPercentage = 5     # Scan for last-accessed time, 5% per scan
