Data bins

Data bins help you identify which files have been modified or accessed recently, and which have not been modified or accessed in a while. DataIQ displays data as either hot, warm, cold, or frozen based on date ranges.

Data bins are available on Data Management reports that show the last modified time (Mtime) for a group of files. This data is shown after installing or upgrading DataIQ, after the first file scan is complete.

If your system is configured to capture the last accessed time (Atime), then data bins are also available for Atime reports. (To learn more, see Data Management Configuration File in the Dell EMC DataIQ Admin Guide.)

Browse view: both the visualization in the upper-right pane and the lower pane include data sorted by Last Modified date, with some of each type of data shown as red, orange, blue, and purple.
