Transferring files to the
Cyber Recovery vault jump host
Use Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) to copy files on to the
Cyber Recovery vault jump host. You use this procedure to transfer a browser executable file and other files to the jump host.
Prerequisites
The
Cyber Recovery solution is successfully installed on the
Microsoft Azure cloud.
A stand-alone or offline browser installer executable, or other files are downloaded to your local workstation.
NOTE: If you are installing a browser, do not download the default installer. During installation, most web browsers access the latest packages over the Internet. You cannot perform this action from the jump host.
The Azure CLI is installed.
About this task
The jump host, which the ARM template installs on
Microsoft Azure cloud as part of the
Cyber Recovery deployment, comes with the Internet Explorer browser installed. The
Cyber Recovery solution does not support the Internet Explorer browser. Optionally, you can manually install a different browser, such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Firefox, for the
Cyber Recovery deployment on Azure.
The jump host that is used in an Azure deployment is a CIS-hardened Windows host. By default, this hardened host does not allow file transfers using RDP; it only allows text transfers. In the following procedure, steps 1 through 5 remove this restriction by editing the registry on the jump host. After a reboot, you can copy files using RDP.
Steps
Use RDP to log in to the jump host on Azure.
Open the command-line window.
Copy the
cis-regedit.exe executable file from the CR VM that enables files transfers:
Use SCP to copy the
cis-regedit registry edit program to a local directory:
