Dell PowerProtect Cyber Recovery 19.13 Azure Deployment Guide

PDF

Preparing your environment

Before you deploy the Cyber Recovery solution on Azure, ensure that you meet the prerequisites and prepare your environment.

Prerequisites

Ensure that you have reviewed General Microsoft Azure requirements for deploying the Cyber Recovery solution on Azure.

About this task

Follow these general steps to prepare to deploy the Cyber Recovery solution on Azure.

Steps

  1. Ensure that the user account has permissions to assign roles to the resources.
  2. Ensure that you have network knowledge about how to connect to Azure VNet:
    • VNet in Classless Inter-Domain Routing (CIDR) format

The minimum CIDR block range for a Cyber Recovery VNet is /27, which provides 32 total IP addresses. This minimum allows each of the subnets that are created to meet the Azure minimum CIDR range of /29, which provides eight IP addresses per subnet.

    • Subnets in CIDR format
      • Subnets must be within the VNet range
      • The minimum subnet is a /28 subnet, which provides 16 addresses
      • The maximum subnet netmask is a /3 subnet, which provides 536,870,907 addresses
    • IP address of the production workstation that connects to the jump host in Azure
  3. For other Azure limitations, see Azure subscription and service limits, quotas, and constraints.
  4. Ensure that you have access to the Cyber Recovery ARM template and VM image.
