Installing the battery

If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation procedure.

NOTE If the battery is disconnected from system board, there is delay during computer boot as the computer undergoes Real Time Clock (RTC) reset.

The following image indicates the location of the battery and provides a visual representation of the installation procedure.

Install the battery. Disconnect the battery cable.

Align and place the battery into the slot on the palmrest assembly.
Adhere the adhesive tape to secure the battery to the palmrest assembly.
Replace the three screws (M2x3) to secure the battery into the palmrest assembly.
Route the battery cable through the routing channels in the palmrest assembly.
