Removing the keyboard

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the procedure in before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the microSD card.
  3. Remove the base cover.
  4. Remove the battery.

Steps

  1. Disconnect the keyboard cable from the connector on the system board [1].
  2. Lift the computer and open the LCD fully [2].

  3. Use a plastic scribe to release the keyboard from the two release holes in the system [2].

    NOTE: : The two release holes for the keyboard are indicated by the "KB" labeling.

  4. Turn the system over and carefully lift the keyboard and then pull the keyboard cable through the gap in the palm rest.
  5. Lift and pull the keyboard out from the computer.
