Launch the PowerFlex Manager from
Dell APEX Navigator for Multicloud Storage
You can monitor PowerFlex and perform operations that are supported by PowerFlex by launching the PowerFlex Manager from
Dell APEX Navigator for Multicloud Storage.
After deploying
Dell APEX Block Storage for AWS, Dell Technologies recommends that you log in to PowerFlex Manager as the admin user and change the default password,
Admin123!, set during the deployment.
When you deploy
Dell APEX Block Storage for AWS from
Dell APEX Navigator for Multicloud Storage, you must provide a value for the routable subnet. Ensure that you provide subnet IPs that are accessible from your company's network. An IP from this subnet is assigned to the PowerFlex Load Balancer and this IP is used to launch PowerFlex Manager. A routable subnet ensures that the PowerFlex Load Balancer IP is accessible from your company's network.
NOTE: When you deploy
Dell APEX Block Storage for AWS using the existing Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) option and choose the routable subnet during deployment configuration, you do not need additional network configurations to access PowerFlex Manager.
When you deploy
Dell APEX Block Storage for AWS using the new VPC option and provide the routable IPs during deployment configuration, to access PowerFlex Manager you must explicitly set up for connectivity from your company's network to the newly created subnet with the routable IP range.

If PowerFlex Manager is not accessible from

If the subnet you provided is not a routable subnet, you cannot access the PowerFlex Manager from your company's network. In such a scenario, use a jump host to access the PowerFlex Manager. Depending on your IT firewall configuration preferences, the following scenarios are possible:
The jump host is deployed in the same subnet as PowerFlex, and firewall rules are created to access the jump host.
The jump host is deployed in a separate subnet with an allow-list IP range.
Internet access is required to access both the PowerFlex Manager UI, and
Dell APEX Block Storage for AWS hosted on
Dell.com from the jump host:
Deploy the jump host in a public subnet.
Configure the Security group for the jump-host EC2 instance to only allow ingress traffic from the Remote Desktop Client.
