Dell APEX Navigator for Multicloud Storage Using Your Service
Create the SDC instances
Deploy an EC2 instance for each SDC that you plan to create. Ensure that the SDCs and the target PowerFlex deployment exist within the same AWS region.
NOTE:While it is possible to connect SDCs to
PowerFlex nodes across different regions, the data cost would be substantial and performance would not be optimized.
The following guidelines apply to the instances:
Instance type
- Each instance must be a dedicated compute instance. The SDC cannot co-reside with a storage node
- There is no official limitation regarding the minimum instance size. However, the instances must be able to supply enough network bandwidth to support the anticipated workload speed. Because the storage traffic traverses the same connection as the rest of the network traffic, Dell Technologies recommends that you select instances with a minimum 10 Gb uplink speed.
NOTE:Existing
AWS EC2 instances may be used.
