Onboarding Kubernetes clusters

Prerequisites

CSM Operator and Dell Connectivity Client installed on your cluster.

About this task

The following steps guide you through onboarding your cluster to APEX Navigator for Kubernetes.

Steps

  1. Go to the Cluster tab of APEX Navigator for Kubernetes (Manage > Kubernetes).
  2. Click the Manage Clusters drop-down menu and click Connect Cluster.
  3. Enter the name of the Kubernetes cluster you want to onboard, and click Continue.
  4. Click Edit to adjust the Get install token command. Provide values for the namespace-dell-connectivity-client, and pod-dell-connectivity-client-0.
  5. After the command is adjusted, click Save.
  6. Start the copied command on the machine that interacts with the your Kubernetes cluster.
  7. Click Copy to copy the command to the clipboard. Then paste, verify, and perform the command on the terminal which interacts with the Kubernetes cluster.
  8. Dell Connectivity Client returns an install token along with certificates. Copy only the install token returned and input it in the Install Token field and click Save.
  9. The instructions expand and show a "Post install key command" that you must copy and run on the terminal that interacts with the Kubernetes cluster.
  10. After performing the command, the Connectivity Client should return an HTTP 202 Accepted response and the onboarding is finished.

  11. To finalize the onboarding wizard, click Done at the bottom of the page.
  12. The cluster is added to APEX Navigator for Kubernetes. It is now visible on the Cluster tab and its status is in the connected state a few minutes. ;later The cluster is marked gray because a license has not been assigned. You assign licenses in the next step in the process.
