Access the system BIOS

About this task

NOTE:The BIOS information that is provided is related to the Dell PowerEdge 16G line of systems. The information is applicable to all Dell APEX Cloud Platform offerings.

Use the System Setup option to configure the system BIOS, iDRAC, and device settings.

Use one of the following interfaces to access the System Setup:

  • iDRAC UI - From the iDRAC Dashboard, click Configurations, and then click BIOS settings.
  • Text browser - To enable the text browser, use the Console Redirection option.

Steps

  1. To view the System BIOS screen, power on the system and press F2 during the boot process.
  2. Click System Setup Main Menu.
    NOTE:If the operating system begins to load before you press F2, wait for the system to finish booting, and then restart the system and try again.

    The following table describes the options available in the System Setup Main Menu:

    Option Description
    System BIOS Configure the BIOS settings.
    iDRAC Settings Interface to set up and configure the iDRAC parameters by using Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI). You can also enable or disable various iDRAC parameters. For more information about this utility, go to the Dell Support site and select the version and series of iDRAC that you have installed.
    Device Settings Configure the settings for devices such as storage controllers or network cards.
