Installing the M.2 2280 solid-state drive

If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation process.

NOTE This procedure applies if you are installing a M.2 2230 solid-state drive in the following M.2 card slots:

Installing the M.2 2280 solid-state drive

Align the notch on the M.2 2280 solid-state drive with the tab on the M.2 card slot on the system board.
Slide the M.2 2280 solid-state drive into the M.2 card slot on the system board.
Slide the M.2 2280 thermal shield into the slot on the M.2 SSD frame.
Align the screw hole on the M.2 2280 thermal shield to the screw hole on the palm-rest assembly.
Replace the screw (M2x2.5) that secures the M.2 2280 solid-state drive to the palm-rest assembly.
