Removing the processor
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
- Remove the base cover.
- Remove the battery.
- Remove the wireless card.
- Remove the solid-state drive from M.2 slot one.
- Remove the rear-I/O cover.
- Remove the computer base.
- Remove the heat-sink assembly.

Steps
- Push down on the lever on the processor cover and move it away from the processor.
- Pull the lever back to open the processor cover.
- Lift the processor straight up to remove it from the system board.
