Removing the card-reader board
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
- Remove the base cover.
- Remove the battery.
- Remove the wireless card.
- Remove the solid-state drive from M.2 slot two.
- Remove the rear-I/O cover.
- Remove the computer base.
About this task
The following image indicates the location of the card-reader board and provides a visual representation of the removal procedure.
Steps
- Using the pull tab, disconnect the card-reader board cable from the system board.
- Remove the three screws (M2.5x2.5) that secure the card-reader board to the palm-rest assembly.
- Remove the card-reader board cable from the routing guides on the palm-rest assembly.
- Lift the SD card reader board off the palm-rest assembly.
