Table 1. SecurityThe table describes the security configuration information.
Option Description
Unlock Setup Status Displays if the setup status is unlocked.
Admin Password Status Displays if the administrator password is clear or set.

Default: Not Set

System Password Status Displays if the system password is clear or set.

Default: Not Set

Admin Password

Allows you to set, change, or delete the administrator(admin) password.

The entries to set password are:

  • Enter the old password:
  • Enter the new password:
  • Confirm new password:

Click OK once you set the password.

NOTE: For the first time login, "Enter the old password:" field is marked to "Not set". Hence, password has to be set for the first time you login and then you can change or delete the password.
System Password

Allows you to set, change, or delete the System password.

The entries to set password are:

  • Enter the old password:
  • Enter the new password:
  • Confirm new password:

Click OK once you set the password.

Password Change

Allows you to change the System password when the administrator password is set.

  • Allow Non-Admin Password Changes

This option is enabled by default.

Absolute Enables, disables, or permanently disables the BIOS module interface of the optional Absolute Persistence Module service from Absolute Software.
  • Enabled: Enable the Absolute Persistence and load the firmware Persistence Module.
  • Disable: Disable Absolute Persistence. The firmware Persistence Module is not installed.
  • Permanently Disabled: Permanently disables Absolute Persistence module interface from farther use.

Default: Enabled

Absolute Status Displays Absolute status.
Firmware TPM Enables the Firmware TPM function.

Default: Enabled

PPI Bypass for Clear Command

Enables you to control the TPM Physical Presence Interface (PPI). When enabled, this setting allows the OS to skip BIOS PPI user prompts when issuing the Clear command. Changes to this setting take effect immediately.

UEFI Firmware Capsule Updates

Allows you to update the system BIOS via UEFI capsule update packages.

  • Enable UEFI Capsule Firmware Updates

This option is enabled by default.

WINDOWS SMM SECURITY MITIGATIONS TABLE (WSMT) Enables or disables SMM Security Mitigation.
Secure Boot
Secure Boot Enables or disables the Secure Boot Feature.

Choose one of the options:

  • Secure Boot Enable
  • Secure Boot Disable

Default: Enabled

Secure Boot Mode Displays the secure boot mode.

Default: Deployed Mode.

Expert Key Management Enables or disables Expert Key Management.

Default: Enabled
