Procedure

NOTE The touch-screen cable is available only on laptop configurations with touch displays.

Disconnect the power-adapter port cable and speaker cable from the system-board assembly.
Open the latch and disconnect the keyboard-control board cable and touchpad cable from the system-board assembly.
Peel the tape to access the fingerprint reader cable.
Open the latch and disconnect the fingerprint reader cable (optional) from the system-board assembly.
Peel off the tape that secures the touch-screen cable to the system-board assembly if applicable.
Peel the tape and then disconnect the touch-screen cable from the system-board assembly if applicable.

Remove the four screws (M2x4) that secure the system-board assembly to the palm-rest assembly.
Lift the system-board assembly off the palm-rest assembly.
CAUTION Do not hold the system board on the area of heat transfer and circuitry.
