ip pim bsr-candidate

Configures the router as an IPv4 PIM BSR candidate.

Syntax

ip pim [vrf vrf-name] bsr-candidate {ethernet node/slot/port[:subport] | loopback loopback-interface-number | vlan vlan-number | port-channel port-channel-number} [hash-mask-len length] [priority priority-value]

no ip pim [vrf vrf-name] bsr-candidate

Parameters
  • vrf vrf-name—Enter the keyword vrf, then the name of the VRF.
  • loopback-interface-number—Enter a value from 0 to 16383.
  • vlan-number—Enter a value from 1 to 4093.
  • port-channel-number—Enter the port channel ID number, from 1 to 999 or 1001 to 2000.
  • length—Enter a value from 0 to 32.
  • priority-value—Enter a value from 0 to 255.
Default
  • Hash mask length is 30.
  • Priority is 64.

Usage Information

The system advertises the IP address of the specified interface as the BSR IP address in BSR messages. The no form of the command removes the router from being the candidate BSR. Do not specify the parameters in the no form of the command.
