Registering the PowerFlex gateway with Secure Remote Services

Register the PowerFlex gateway as part of configuring PowerFlex for Secure Remote Services.

1. From the PowerFlex CLI, type the following the register PowerFlex:

   /opt/emc/scaleio/gateway/bin/SioGWTool.sh --register_esrs_gateway --scaleio_gateway_ip <sio_gw_ip> --scaleio_gateway_user admin --scaleio_gateway_password VMwar3123 --esrs_gateway_ip <ESRS_GW_IP> --esrs_gateway_user <EMC_ESRS_Enabled_Account> --esrs_gateway_password <EMC_ESRS_RSA_Token> --connect_in_ip <sio_gw_ip>
   

2. If using PowerFlex GUI presentation server:
   1. Log in to the PowerFlex GUI presentation server.
   2. Under Configuration > Devices, select the device.
   3. Confirm your PowerFlex serial number is Online.
3. If using a PowerFlex version prior to 3.5:
   1. Log in to the PowerFlex GUI.
   2. From the PowerFlex GUI management software, select Devices > Manage Device.
   3. Confirm your PowerFlex serial number is Online and Managed
4. From the PowerFlex CLI type the following to verify you are connected to Secure Remote Services:

   /opt/emc/scaleio/gateway/bin/SioGWTool.sh --check_esrs_connectivity --scaleio_gateway_ip xxxxxx --scaleio_gateway_password xxxxxx --scaleio_gateway_user admin

5. Type the following to verify that Secure Remote Services started successfully:

   /opt/emc/scaleio/gateway/bin/SioGWTool.sh --start_esrs --scaleio_gateway_ip xxxxxx --scaleio_gateway_password xxxxxx --scaleio_gateway_user admin
