Rebooting a PowerFlex node in a hyperconverged deployment using PowerFlex GUI

Use this procedure for PowerFlex versions prior to 3.5. Use the PowerFlex GUI to reboot a PowerFlex node.

Steps

  1. Log in to the PowerFlex GUI using the primary MDM IP address.
  2. In the PowerFlex GUI, select Backend > Storage Pool, and right-click SDS > Enter Maintenance Mode.
  3. Click Protected, and click Enter Maintenance Mode.
  4. Log in to the VMware vCenter web server, and perform the following:
    1. Shut down the storage VM (SVM).
    2. Put the PowerFlex node in VMware ESXi maintenance mode.
    3. Reboot the PowerFlex node.
    4. Take the PowerFlex node out of VMware ESXi maintenance mode.
    5. Power on the SVM.
  5. Perform the following in the PowerFlex GUI:
    1. Take the SVM out of PowerFlex maintenance mode.
    2. On the Dashboard, verify that there are no rebuild on rebalance activities before rebooting the next node.
