Power off non-mdm and non-tiebreaker PowerFlex hyperconverged nodes with VMware ESXi

Use this procedure to Power off non-mdm and non-tiebreaker PowerFlex hyperconverged nodes with VMware ESXi.

Steps

  1. Document the current role of each MDM member. MDM members may be on PowerFlex hyperconverged nodes or PowerFlex storage-only nodes.
  2. Log in to VMware vSphere Client.
  3. From VMware vCenter, click Home > Hosts and Clusters.
  4. Verify that DRS is set to manual and high availability is disabled on the customer cluster.
  5. Shut down all non-MDM or non-tiebreaker PowerFlex storage VMs.
  6. Place all non-MDM or non-tiebreaker VMware ESXi-based PowerFlex nodes into maintenance nodes.
  7. Power off the VMware ESXi-based PowerFlex nodes that are in maintenance mode.
