Edit the alert connector settings

Perform this procedure if you need to modify the alert connector or registration settings.

About this task

When the alert connector is initially configured, discovered nodes are automatically enabled to send critical and error alerts for node and PowerFlex level events to Secure Remote Services. If resources in the environment are expanded or changed, you must configure nodes for the alert connector to enable alerting on any of the resources that expanded or changed. These nodes must be configured for the alert connector in order for Secure Remote Services to receive critical or error alerts for those resources.

Steps

  1. In PowerFlex Manager, click Settings from the menu and then click Virtual Appliance Management.
  2. Go to Alert Connector, click Edit, and change the settings as required.
    • To temporarily suspend sending alerts to Secure Remote Services, click Edit to the right of the State field. You can choose to suspend the alerts for 3, 6 12, or 24 hours. You can restart the sending of alerts at any time by clicking Enabled. The state and time that displays is based on hours selected for suspension and the NTP node settings.
    • To deregister the alert connector and stop the collection and sending of alerts to Secure Remote Services, click Deregister.
  3. To configure nodes to send alerts to PowerFlex Manager, click Configure nodes for alert connector.
  4. To verify that the alert connector is receiving alerts, click Send Test Alert.
