Configure the operating system installation (PXE) port group on the customer cluster

Add a distributed port group on the PowerFlex rack customer cluster to establish connectivity from the VM to the management network.

Steps

  1. Log in to VMware vCenter for the customer cluster using the VMware vSphere Client.
  2. Go to Networking and the select the cust_dvswitch VDS for the customer cluster.
  3. Right-click the cust_dvswitch VDS and select Distributed Port Group > New Distributed Port Group.
  4. On the New Distributed Port Group page, enter a name for the port group and click Next.
  5. On the Configure Settings page, keep the default settings except for the following fields:
    Field Value
    VLAN TYPE VLAN
    VLAN ID PXE VLAN #
  6. On the Ready to Complete page, verify that the information is correct and click Finish.
  7. To configure hashing on the newly created distributed port group, right-click the port group and select Edit Settings.
  8. In the left pane, select Teaming and failover and from the right pane select Route based on IP hash from the Load balancing menu. Click OK.
