Configure syslog forwarding

You can configure PowerFlex Manager to forward syslogs it receives from system components to a remote network management system. PowerFlex Manager provides authentication through the configuration settings you provide.

1. Log in to PowerFlex Manager.
2. On the menu bar, click Settings and click Virtual Appliance Management.
3. On the Virtual Appliance Management page, in the Syslog section, click Edit.
4. Click Add syslog forward.
5. For Host, enter the destination IP address of the remote server to which you want to forward syslogs.
6. Enter the destination Port 514 where the remote server is accepting syslog messages.
7. Select the network Protocol used to transfer the syslog messages. The default is UDP.
8. Optionally enter the Facility and Severity Level to filter the syslogs that are forwarded. The default is to forward all.
9. Click Save to add the syslog forwarding destination.

   The Virtual Appliance Management page displays the configured details as shown below:
