Add the replication consistency group

Use this procedure to add the replication consistency group.

Steps

  1. Log in to the presentation server, https://presentation_server_IP:8443.
  2. From the left pane, click Protection > RCGs.
  3. From the right pane, click Add.
  4. In the Add RCG wizard, enter the information for the RCG.
  5. From the General page:
    1. Enter the RCG Name.
    2. Enter the number of recovery point objective (RPO) minutes. This is the amount of time of data loss tolerated if replication between the systems is compromised.
      NOTE:It is recommended to enter the minimal amount of time the feature allows, which is 15 seconds.
    3. Select the Source Protection Domain.
    4. Select the Target System.
    5. Select the Target Protection Domain.
  6. Click Next.
  7. From the Add Replication Pairs page:
    1. Click the volume from the Source column and click the corresponding size volume from the Target column.
    2. Click Add Pair.
    3. Click Next.
  8. From the Review Pairs page:
    1. Ensure the correct source and volume pair are selected and click Add and Activate.
    2. Verify that the operation completed successfully and click Dismiss.
      The RCG is added to the source and target systems. Wait for the end of the initial copy transmit before using.
  9. Find the current copy status:
    1. Log in to the primary MDM using SSH and type scli --login --username admin.
    2. To verify the replication status, type scli --query_all_replication_pairs.
      After the initial copy is complete, the PowerFlex replication system is ready for use.
