Back up the appliance SSL and trusted certificates

Before you upgrade PowerFlex Manager, you must back up the SSL and trusted certificates.

Steps

  1. Back up the appliance SSL certificates:
    1. Log in to the PowerFlex Manager appliance using SSH and sudo to root: sudo su -
    2. Copy the following files to /home/delladmin/ or to /tmp/:
      • cp /etc/pki/tls/certs/localhost.crt /home/delladmin/
      • cp /etc/pki/tls/private/localhost.key /home/delladmin
    3. Type chown delladmin:delladmin /home/delladmin/localhost.* to change the owner to delladmin.
    4. Copy the localhost.crt and localhost.key file from the PowerFlex Manager appliance to the jump server or another Linux system for temporary storage.
  2. Back up the appliance SSL trusted certificates:
    1. From the original PowerFlex Manager appliance, use SCP to copy the /etc/pki/java/cacerts ca cert database file to the jump server or another destination you choose.
      For example, scp /etc/pki/java/cacerts <admin@ip of jump server:>
