Changing the root password on the VM
After deploying the PowerFlex Gateway OVF, you must change the root password of the VM.
Steps
- Log in to VMware vCenter.
- Power on the PowerFlex Gateway VM.
- Use VMware virtual console to connect to the PowerFlex Gateway VM.
- Log in using these credentials: User is root, password is admin.
- Use the Linux passwd command to change the default password to <ROOT PWD>.
- To logout of the console, type exit.
- Log in to the root account using the new password <ROOT PWD> to ensure it works.
