Upload the ECS license file

You can upload the ECS license file from the ECS Portal.

Prerequisites

  • This operation requires the System Administrator role in ECS.
  • Ensure that you have a valid license file. You can follow the instructions that are provided in Obtain the Dell EMC ECS license file to obtain a license.

About this task

Where you are installing more than one VDC in a geo-federated system, ensure that the licensing scheme across VDCs is the same. For example, if the existing VDC has a server side encryption-enabled license, any new VDC added to it should have the same.

Steps

  1. In the ECS Portal, select Settings > Licensing.
  2. On the Licensing page, in the Upload a New License File field, click Browse to go to your local copy of the license file.
  3. Click Upload to add the license.
    The license features and associated information be displayed in the list of licensed features.
