Supported VSS providers

The following table lists the VSS providers that Avamar plug-ins use to perform backups of file system data.

The Avamar Plug-in for Windows VSS uses the Microsoft Software Shadow Copy Provider to perform snapshots for BMR backups in all supported environments.

Hardware providers are not supported.
